What’s with the Pigeons and Trash anyhow?

I create porcelain pigeons and trash to celebrate creatures and objects that were once celebrated, admired, and had one or more distinctive and important purposes in society, only to be tossed aside when that single purpose has been served. I see what has become so easily discarded as captured moments that feel like home, when finding home has become increasingly precarious. Pigeons and trash serve as symbols of single use domestication, created in porcelain to re-examine how we determine value of our everyday encounters and surroundings.
